A Promise from God

So often we hear about God’s judgement surrounding mankind, which He has a right to do, but that is just part of the story. We need to understand our sin and how a perfect God can only accept perfection. But we aren’t perfect. In the Old Testament we had sacrifices and duties to cover our sin and allow us into relationship with God. But now, the ultimate sacrifice- Jesus Christ has covered our sins if we trust in Him. But let’s take a quick look at some of God’s promises starting with the Rainbow in Genesis:

I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth." I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth…

Here are a few more promises from the Lord:

God’s love endures forever. (Psalm 136; Isaiah 54:10)

Mercy is available to everyone who repents. (I John 1:9; 2 Chronicles 7:14; Psalm 86:5)

God will meet our needs. (Philippians 4:19)

God is always comforting us. (Psalm 23:4, Psalm 27:1)

God hears our prayers. (Psalm 34:17; Psalm 50:15)

All things will work out for our good. (Romans 8:28; Psalm 31:19)
